Well, no vacations this year because of the obvious reason. Yes, yes, I know some of you all were living it up, but I just wasn’t into spreading the disease. We can’t all do low risk stuff all the time and not spread it. Yes, I judged you. Get over it. I won’t.
Anyway, I’m writing this to try and reflect a bit on the last year. We’re moving soon, and I’m starting a new job, so it’s gonna be a “live hard in the present” attitude for a bit…at least, until the next pandemic happens. At the rate some of y’all aren’t getting vaccinated, I think we can expect some nice new variants to start thrashing us by December 2021. Thanks.
During the pandemic, I spend a TON of time riding my various bikes. I rode them all across the valley, in the mountains, to the lake, etc. It helped that my parents bought me this really sweet Trek gravel bike (Checkpoint) in May 2019. I’ve ridden that thing 7,300 miles since. That’s a lotta miles. Here’s a map I made out of some shitty Python Code of where I went:
During my travels, I took the occasional GoPro video of my surroundings. Usually I was just looking to capture some nice scenery, but I also got some good videos of people just doing really dumb shit. Maybe that’s redundant. I got some good videos of people doing shit.
Click one of the links below to see what I saw on my bike for that time. I’ve also added some text to each month to try and remember what all went down, if you’re interested in my reflections. Maybe it will help you reflect, maybe it won’t, idk. Thanks to Humungus for letting me use their music!
