July 5 – Arrival

Well folks, we have arrived in Munich. I am dead. Bae is dead. We each managed to grab about 2 hours of sleep on the plane after watching “A Wrinkle in Time” (terrible movie) and the new “Jumanji” (surprisingly not terrible, and actually…good?)

Our flight landed in Munich at 1255 local time. Fortunately, we were met with little resistance at the passport check-in, and we swiftly recovered our bags and got on the train to the “Marziplan Plaza”, or something like that. I will look it up tomorrow.

Anyway, train system is pretty extensive and we will be using it frequently. Following is a potato-quality photo of all the lines. Wow.

Upon exiting the train, we spotted the famous cuckoo clock. Can’t wait to witness the full power of that battle station tomorrow.

After visiting the plaza and making our way that much closer to zombie-hood, we began the 4.5km walk to our Airbnb. We decided to walk because it wasn’t that far and we had time to kill. Also, I am in a step competition with my family and am desperate to take back the title from my Aunt. We saw this sweet cemetery:

But then things got a little gnarly. Ended up getting dead-ended in a construction site, adding an extra mile to our walk. That link will show you how not fun the walk became.

However, we persevered and championed over that obstacle like true Americans. We then went to the grocery store to speak English and buy food for tomorrow. Also beer:
