Well folks, this was the real day. We were to ride at Phil’s World. If you mountain bike often, you may have heard of this mystical place. It is a desert mesa outside of Cortez CO, with just miles and miles and miles of trails packed in on it. You could ride there for days and still be picking out routes.
Fortunately, TPine and Gmac had already been to this place before, so they already knew where all of the cool rides were. So we just buckled up and shredddddddddddddded.
Here’s what it looked like on video:

That was like, realllllllllllllllllly fun. You start to really zone out and become one with the trails, so to speak. Unfortunately, TPine crushed his bike with his all-powerful legs towards the end, so we did have a mechanical casualty. At least he didn’t have to limp too far. I was super impressed with how well JK rode. TPine, GMac, and I had been involved in a sick climbing competition, so we had basically been obsessively riding our bikes for a year. But JK really hung with us and shredded maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad hard.
When we got back to the parking lot, we just drank some beer, ate some food, and just chilllllllled. Because it was a Wednesday, Phil’s world really wasn’t that busy, which made for a very good time. Once we got tired of heckling the locals, we packed it in and headed back to our campsite, where we partied some more. Good times, kids, good times.
Oh yeah, did you know TPine has a single speed bicycle that he rides sometimes?
