July 6 – Exploring Munich

This day was so rad, gonna break it up into separate headers.

Morning

We got off to a slow start, being all dead tired and what not. We woke up to rain and it didn’t stop for a lonnnnnng time. Good thing we brought rain jackets.

We started the day by taking the train to the main plaza. We got there just in time to witness the greatness that is the gigantic glockenspiel.

If you haven’t seen this before, don’t. Sooooooo dumb. It was funny watching everyone gather together right before noon…everyone left disappointed. There was just some out of time, out of tune noise and some weak animation. Change my mind.

Somebody add some pyro. Want to see something more interesting?

Anyway, the rest of the main plaza is super cool. We went to the market to get some pretzels and beer. While they were delicious, we are having some trouble with getting by with English. Some people speak it, and some sure as hell don’t.

English Park and French Victory

After getting food, we walked northwards to this English Park. It’s a pretty sweet park for a city park. However, it was raining all day, so we probably didn’t have as much fun as we could have. Saw a swan doe:

Also, apparently some standing waves get created in this canals, so we saw a ton of surfers getting it.

After this, we walked back to the main plaza and went to this irsh pub to watch the game.  Here is a map of our trek. Also, go France!

Golden Angel and Belgian Victory

After game one, I was dead tired. Not enough coffee and too much beer. We went on another walk to the east to see the river and this weird golden angel lunatic.

That river was dope. Golden angel was…strange.

It may not have been an angel, but look at this shit:

Then we went to this busy Australian pub to see Belgium knock Brazil out. Here is our trek for that. Good damn day.

Also, tried the Dunkel beer today. Was quite delicious! Usually beer like that gives me bad heartburn, but not this baby.

Hopefully have time to get a bit more detailed tomorrow. P.S. as I’ve been writing this, bae made a sweet origami X-Wing.

Also, just turned off HDR on my new phone, so hopefully I won’t have anymore blurry photos while Michael J-ing out.
