I live in Salt Lake City where there are some pretty fun mountain biking trails. However, thanks to this annoying thing called “snow”, many of the good trails are inaccessible and/or damaged for much of the year. This means that to get to the really good shit, I must journey South. I finally took off some work and did just that.
The plan was to meet up with TPineDaTroof, JK, and GMacAttack. You might recognize the former two from the Grand Canyon solo Baecae. Both are super great dudes. GMac is a friend with whom I fought side-by-side in the trenches of graduate school, where we forged a bond that is stronger than blood. It was very good to see all three of these dudes again.
We met up outside of Dolores, CO, where TPine guided us to a perfect campsite. No, I can’t tell you where it is. I am sworn to secrecy. From this campsite, we could ride straight to these dope ass Boggy Draw trails.
Here’s a video of it:
And here is the garmin track:

Don’t even try to figure out where our amazing campsite is.
After riding, we just hung out around the campfire and shared some stories. It sure was damn cool to be hanging out with these guys again. It also was literally cold. I think it got down to below freezing, but at least it didn’t snow like that time my buddy Chris (not TPine’s friend Chris, another Chris) tried to camp up in the Sawtooth Range of Idaho in late May. Did not know it could blizzard up there in a moment’s notice.
In conclusion, however, what a great first day.
