Today was more or less a rest day while we wait for the other half of our party to show up. And by that, I mean, of course I started by day by exploring the potential “walking” path down from our VRBO on high down to the town below. Turns out we were at about 700ft and the town was down there at sea level. It was a bit steep:

And here is a photo looking back up at the house to kind of give you an idea:

The town was fun, but I learned my lesson that the “Spar” grocery stores were generally a bit smaller, more compact, and BUSY compared to some of the other grocery stores (LIDL is definitely the best so always try and go there). Also, I had a fun little snafu where I accidentally grabbed a water jug that didn’t have a barcode, so I had to muscle my way through a crowded store to get another one at checkout. Reminder that my Spanish isn’t great, so this was all fun to figure out.
Still, I successfully brought supplies up the mountain and even got a decent workout doing it. FORTUNATELY, we booked a place with a pool, which was an absolute must. This part of Spain is hot this time of year, with the highs being in the low 90s and the lows being in the low 80s. When in doubt, get in the pool:

The only real thing that we HAD to do this day was to explore some potential spots to watch the eclipse. We were on a slope that was facing south east, so we knew we would need to walk somewhere. However, having driven in from the other side of the hill, we knew it wasn’t that tall, and we had already identified this church as a potential spot to watch the eclipse.
So a few of us took a pilgrimage to this church to scout it out and look for some good places to watch the eclipse.
Here is the Garmin of that hike:

And how about some photos from that ridge:

Convinced that we had a spot to watch the eclipse, we hiked back to the house for some pool time! As we were still waiting for the rest of the fam to show up, Bae and I decided to drive down to the sea and take our first dip into the Mediterranean.
Here’s where we were for that:

And here are a few images of what that looked like:

We then went back up the hill, met the rest of the fam, and chilled. It was a good day.
