This was probably my most fun day. We just drove up into the Alps and did some serious touristy shit, taking a gondola up to the top of First peak, where we first did this cliff walk, then walked to an Alpine Lake. It was fun, but I’ve sure seen better ones in Nevada and Montana.

View from the start of the cliff walk. Pretty nice.
Super artsy photo I took. You’re welcome.
The alpine lake. Neat.

Here’s what that hike to the lake looked like.

After getting back from the lake, we went to the restaurant at the top of the gondola and had some lunch. I ate a ton of schnitzel, which was actually pretty good.

After lunch is when the real serious fun began! We took some “mountain carts” down part of the mountain, which were really just strong Big Wheels. It felt like mario kart. After taking the big wheels down, we took these scooters the rest of the way down. You might look down on these activities from your lonely pedestal and think, “I wouldn’t pay for that; that activity is beneath me”. Well, you would be wrong, and also my Dad paid for it.

I’ll let the following video show you what some of these activities were like (I didn’t bring my GoPro…sadly), but here is the garmin for the mountain cart, and here is the garmin for the “trottibike”. You can see that I hit 28mph in both activities, and Ikumi was right up there with me. My mom was…well, she made it. Some of you all, not going to name names (Alex Makuch), would have gone fast as hell on the mountain cart, and I wonder if we’d still be looking for your body. It would have been worth it, though.

Video of the adventure.

When we made it back to our airbnb, we watched the movie the Eiger Sanction, starring Clint Eastwood, because my Mom couldn’t stop thinking about it as soon as we saw Eiger (mountain peak). That movie was surprisingly good; I recommend it!

Anyway, great day! We saw some neat hawks, too, which I’ll put in a video at the final post, if I remember.

You’d never find my body; I’d hit escape velocity
